WASHINGTON D.C. - Turkey warned the U.S. administration about the cartoons published in the American press on permission for passage of American soldiers from Turkey and on the assistance package for Turkey.
Turkey warned American officials saying ''please be careful about your press, it is important to give correct messages.''
Turkey, which complained about the messages of the U.S. administration which tries to press the Turkish parliament to permit the passage of American soldiers from Turkey, said that this attitude increased the sentimentality in Turkey.
While the negotiations between Turkey and the U.S. continued on the economic assistance package, the cartoons and news published in the U.S. commented that the support of Turkey could be taken by money.
The diplomatic circles in Washington D.C. said that they tried to explain the U.S. from the beginning that Iraq was a difficult issue for Turkey, but the U.S. didn't lessen the time pressure on Turkey.
Meanwhile, observers in Washington D.C. refer to the possible problems in Turkish-American relations ''if Turkey does not approve the northern front.'' It is believed that Turkey will particularly have problems about adoption of certain decisions at the U.S. Congress, and it is also commented that the U.S. administration may not act willingly to stop Armenian and Greek lobbies in the U.S.
