ISTANBUL - Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that there was not a new date set for presentation of a second motion to parliament.
When some reporters told him that there were rumors that a second motion on deployment of foreign troops in Turkey and dispatch of Turkish troops abroad would be brought to parliament after the by-election in southeastern Siirt province on March 9, Erdogan said, ''there is not a new date set for presentation of a second motion. The process still continues.''
Erdogan noted that they would make evaluations according to developments in that process and then decide.
''We have explained this issue in the meeting of our party today. I once more underline that we can't make politics by leaving aside Turkey's realities and the realities in the world. We will continue to make politics by taking into consideration all these facts,'' Erdogan added.
