Yakis: It Won't Be Correct To Connect Motion With A Date

ANKARA - Foreign Minister Yasar Yakis said on Tuesday that they were evaluating whether a new motion on dispatch of Turkish soldiers abroad and deployment of U.S. soldiers in Turkey would be submitted to Parliament and added ''It won't be correct to connect the motion with a date''.
Yakis responded questions of reporters prior to Justice and Development Party (AK Party) group meeting. When asked ''Is there a possibility to resubmit the motion?'' Yakis said that the issue was evaluated both in AK Party and government and he added that they would decide whether a new motion would be submitted when this process ended.
Yakis said that talks between Turkey and the United States were standing where it was left and while responding the question whether talks had ended when it was left, Yakis said that they were expecting some answers which they did not receive and he added that they would consider the issue when the talks restarted.
Upon a question whether motion was left after March 9, Yakis said that it would not be correct to connect the issue with a date.
Noting that burning of Turkish flag in northern Iraq was a provocation, Yakis said that Turkey was a country which aimed to get along well with Kurdish people both in northern Iraq and in Turkey and which took concrete steps for that in the past.
When asked whether northern Iraqi officials apologized, Yakis said that he did not think that such actions were approved by high ranking officials and added that he did not think that Barzani would approve such a provocation.
When a reporter who recalled that Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas would come to Turkey on Wednesday asked whether a solution was close in Cyprus issue, Yakis said that they had some attitudes which were called as red line and if answers could be found to those attitudes, a step could be taken.
''Such a condition has been set forth for the referendum that we will be in a position as if we accept the results of referendum beforehand. That's why we have to make evaluations.''
