ANKARA - Pakistani Naval Staff Chief Admiral Shahid Karimullah, who came to Turkey as the official guest of Naval Forces Commander Admiral Bulent Alpkaya, was decorated on Tuesday with the Medal of Merit of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) for his efforts to further improve relations between Turkey and Pakistan.
Admiral Alpkaya and Admiral Karimullah held a tete-a-tete meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Admiral Alpkaya recalled that Admiral Karimullah was paying an official visit to Turkey between March 2 and 9.
''During his visit to Turkey, Admiral Karimullah will visit military facilities in Istanbul, Izmir and Golcuk. He has expended great efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Turkey and Pakistan and to further improve relations between armed forces and naval forces of our countries. His visit to Turkey will make an important contribution to further improvement of our relations,'' he said.
Later, Admiral Alpkaya decorated Admiral Karimullah with the Medal of Merit of the TSK for his efforts to further improve relations between Turkey and Pakistan.
