ADANA - Bases and ports in Turkey continued on Monday to be calm after the motion on deployment of foreign troops in Turkey and dispatch of Turkish troops abroad was rejected by the parliament.
Sources told A.A correspondent that Iskenderun port and Incirlik base started a calm day on Monday although there was serious activity prior to the vote on the motion.
There is not any ship at Iskenderun port at the moment. A Ro-Ro ship announced to be hired by NATO cannot enter into the port due to storm.
Some of tents set up by the U.S. personnel in the Naval Supply Support Detachment Command were uprooted due to the storm.
No plane takes off from Incirlik base while the doors of hangars are closed.
VEHICLES OF UNITED STATES WAITING IN ISKENDERUN PORT
General Staff General Secretariat said on Monday that the news reports, saying that the vehicles belonging to the United States were returned from the main gate as their transfer started, failed to reflect the facts.
General Staff General Secretariat issued a statement and said, ''news reports appeared in some press organs today saying that the vehicles belonging to the United States, which came to Iskenderun within the scope of Site Preparation, were returned from the main gate as they started transfer.''
It said those news reports failed to reflect the facts.
The statement said the issue in question took place in line with the own demands of the U.S. authorities.
