Annan Meets With President Denktas And Papadopoulos

LEFKOSA - United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, who is currently paying a visit to Cyprus, met on Thursday with President Rauf Denktas of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Greek Cypriot leader Glafcos Clerides and new Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos in the buffer zone.
TRNC Presidential Undersecretary Ergun Olgun, Presidential Advisor Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Soysal and Osman Ertug, the representative of the TRNC in the United States, are accompanying President Denktas.
Annan and leaders refrained from responding questions of journalists.
Meanwhile, President Denktas came together with Papadopoulos, who won the elections in the Greek Cypriot side, for the first time.
