SILOPI - Journalists who were waiting on Monday in Cizre and Silopi townships of eastern Sirnak province to follow the meeting of Iraqi opposition groups in northern Iraq could not go to the region.
Journalists waited in the region for an hour because some foreign television teams wanted to take with them their live broadcast vehicles. After the problems were solved, journalists departed for Habur, however they returned back as they were leaving Silopi due to postponement of meeting.
Silopi Head Official Unal Cakici said that he received news that meeting could be postponed and he did know the duration of postponement. He added that the problems between opposition groups in Iraq caused the delay.
It was claimed that Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party (IKDP) did not want Turkish journalists in the region.
