Pearson Meets With Ziyal

ANKARA - U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Robert Pearson met with Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Ugur Ziyal late on Sunday.
Responding questions of journalists following the meeting, which lasted for 1.5 hours, Pearson said that they had recorded progress in negotiations between Turkey and the United States.
Noting that they had been exchanging views in a positive atmosphere, Pearson said that they had been working hard.
Meanwhile, sources told the A.A correspondent that Pearson had informed the Turkish side at the meeting on new economic and political directions of the United States.
Noting that the sides had approached to solution following the meeting between Ziyal and Pearson, sources said that both sides had been expending great efforts to come to a conclusion.
Pointing out that the United States had relieved Turkey on some of its reservations, sources said that Turkey did not consider it sufficient.
