SALIHLI - Salihli Municipality in Aegean Region rented its mineral water and spring water bottling facilities to Beyza Spring Water Marketing Company established by Israeli businessmen Avram Kalef and David Kohen and businessmen from Salihli Suleyman Bulut for ten years.
Salihli Mayor Zafer Keskiner told reporters on Sunday that the facilities were rented by taking into consideration changing technological conditions and giant companies in the water market.
Avram Kalef said that he was born in Istanbul and then they migrated to Israel. Kalef noted that his father asked him to work in Turkey when he was dying and so, he launched initiatives to promote spring and mineral water of Salihli.
They planned 2.5 million U.S. dollars of investment at first stage, Kalef stated.
Kalef said that they would firstly sell their products to internal than to external markets.
They would also promote regional fruit to be used in mineral water production in the world market, Kalef stated.
Kalef added that they had started to search for a field where they could plan fruit and vegetables.
