Treasury: Fourth Review With Imf Continues

ANKARA - Treasury Undersecretariat said on Saturday that fourth review with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as a part of the Stand-By deal continued in a constructive atmosphere and with mutual understanding.
A statement of the Treasury said that the IMF delegation headed by Turkey Desk Chief Juha Kahkonen continued contacts as a part of the fourth review.
The statement stressed that deliberations with the IMF on the draft letter of intent continued in parallel with the preparations for the budget of 2003.
News that there was difference of opinion between Kahkonen and economy bureaucrats was baseless, the statement said.
The statement noted that such news did not reflect the facts and added that such news would contribute to neither the process of implementation of the economic program nor the negotiation process between the economy management and the IMF.
