Gul: It Is Not Possible To Efficiently Administer A Country With A Classic Understanding Of Civil Servant

ANKARA - Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Saturday that it was not possible to efficiently administer a country with a classic understanding of civil servant.
Speaking at a symposium on reconstruction of public personnel regime in Turkey, Gul said that they were exerting serious initiatives on public management reform and a bill on the issue would be submitted to parliament.
Gul noted that one of the important reforms they would make would be State Personnel Regime reform.
Everybody were complaining about the injustice and inequality of public personnel regime, Gul stated.
Gul said that efficiency and productivity should not be neglected.
Turkey needed radical reforms, Gul stressed.
Gul said that dealing with important issues in foreign policy recently would not mean that economic issues would be ignored.
Radical changes had to be made in democratic life and economy, Gul pointed out.
Gul added that a bill on local administrations was to be submitted to parliament.
