LEFKOSA/ANKARA - Alvaro De Soto, the special representative of U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan left the Greek Cypriot side for Ankara on Friday.
De Soto is expected to attend the meetings that are held between Turkey and Greece in Ankara in which issues of guarantorship and security are being discussed.
The visit of De Soto will also be a preparation visit before the contacts of Kofi Annan who will come to Ankara on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Tassos Papadopoulos who won the elections on Feb. 16 in Greek Cypriot side, will take over the mission from Greek Cypriot leader Glafcos Clerides on Feb. 28.
