ERZURUM - Manuscript and golden embroidered Koran was confiscated in eastern province of Erzurum on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, security forces launched an operation in Duatepe village in Koprukoy town of Erzurum.
They confiscated a manuscript and golden embroidered Koran and detained a person.
Experts at the Ataturk University and Directorate of Erzurum Museum said that the Koran belonged to A.H. 785.
A full investigation into the historical works smuggling is under way.
