Turkey - Greece Negotiations To Start On Friday

ANKARA - The negotiations between Turkey and Greece concerning security and guarantorship in Cyprus will start on Friday.
Diplomatic sources said on Thursday that the first part of meetings which would be held on technical level on security and guarantorship issues would be held in Ankara. Whether the second part of meetings will be held or not has not been cleared yet.
Turkish delegation will be headed by Foreign Ministry Deputy Undersecretary Baki Ilkin, while former Greek Ambassador to Turkey Alexandros Filon will be the chairman of Greek delegation. The negotiations in which the United Nations will not attend will start on Friday morning.
Greek Foreign Minister George Papandreou had suggested that parts on security arrangements and guarantorship of the United Nations' Cyprus Plan should be negotiated between Turkey and Greece.
