Negotiations On Memorandum Of Understanding Re-start

ANKARA - Negotiations on military issues regarding Northern Iraq in case of a possible U.S. operation against Iraq and the program of the economic support that the United States would give to Turkey re-started in the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday.
Turkish delegation is headed by Deniz Bolukbasi while Marisa Lino is chairing the U.S. delegation.
Negotiations which were initiated in Ankara on February 3 were suspended last week.
Diplomatic sources said that progress was recorded at great extent on issues like the future of Iraq and Northern Iraq within the political framework.
Ankara wants assurance of the U.S. Congress for economic issues while diplomatic sources state that signing of a memorandum of understanding will be sufficient due to the lack of time.
