BRUSSELS - Prime Minister Abdullah Gul came to Brussels, Belgium on Monday to hold various contacts and to participate in the meeting that will be hosted by EU Troika to give information about the EU summit on Iraqi issue.
Following a working meeting with Turkish diplomatic officials, Gul will start his contacts in Brussels. Gul will meet with Greek Prime Minister Costas Simitis, Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt, EU High Commissioner for Common Foreign Policy and Defense Javier Solana, and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.
Gul is also expected to meet with U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan who will be in Brussels due to EU summit.
EU Troika, which is formed of EU Term President Greece, next EU Term President Italy and High Commissioner Solana, will give information to leaders of 13 candidate countries on Tuesday about the EU Summit that will be held today.
Prime Minister Gul and the accompanying delegation will return to Turkey on Tuesday evening.
