KABUL - Turkey will hand over the command of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) to Germany and the Netherlands on Monday.
National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul and officials from the General Staff and Foreign Ministry will attend the ceremony to be held in Kabul.
Besides defense ministers of Germany and the Netherlands, military officials will also participate in the ceremony.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai will also be in attendance at the meeting.
General Hilmi Akin Zorlu, who has been the commander of ISAF since June 20, 2002, is expected to return to Ankara together with the Turkish team after the ceremony.
