Tuygan: All Sides Highlighted Importance Of Iraq's Territorial Integrity

ANKARA - Meeting of representatives of opposition groups in Northern Iraq with Turkish and U.S. officials ended.
Addressing journalists following the meeting, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deputy Undersecretary Ali Tuygan said that all sides highlighted importance of Iraq's territorial integrity during the meeting.
''Similar meetings were held in the past. During today's meeting, the sides exchanged views about recent developments on the Iraq issue. All sides highlighted importance of Iraq's territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence. Meanwhile, efforts to find a peaceful solution to the Iraq issue have been continuing,'' he said.
Responding a question, Tuygan said that any military document was not brought onto agenda of the meeting.
Meanwhile, Iraqi Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) leader Jalal Talabani said in his part that they came to Turkey to talk about their friendly relations with Turkey.
Noting that they discussed peaceful solutions instead of a possible military operation, Talabani added that they hoped to hold the next meeting in Baghdad.
Meanwhile, U.S. President George Bush's adviser for Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad said that they were pleased with the sides' desire for a more democratic and free Iraq.
Iraqi Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) leader Jalal Talabani, Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) high-ranking official for regional administration Nechirvan Barzani, Iraqi Turkmen Front Chairman Sanan Ahmet Aga, U.S. President George Bush's adviser for Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad and Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation headed by Tuygan were in attendance at the meeting, which lasted for nearly three hours.
