ANKARA - The parliament adopted on Thursday the law which abolishes the punishments of those who were imprisoned for committing crimes through the media and which was earlier sent back to the parliament by President Sezer for reconsideration.
The law was adopted in the parliament by 337 votes against 85 votes.
President Sezer stated in his letter of rejecting the law that the regulation had the character of amnesty and therefore it had to be adopted by three fifths majority. The law was adopted by 337 votes this time meeting the criterion of Sezer.
