ANKARA - Iraqi Ambassador to Turkey Talip Abid Saleh said on Thursday that the country which gave support in any way to a possible operation of the United States against Iraq would join the war.
Saleh evaluated the evidences which were presented by U.S. State Secretary Colin Powell to the United Nations Security Council and Turkey's role in a possible operation against Iraq in a press conference.
When asked what would be their reactions if Turkey allowed deployment of U.S. soldiers in its land, Saleh said that any support to the United States would mean joining war. He added that if those countries would help the United States, they would understand in the future that they made a strategic mistake and committed crime.
Saleh said that countries which would support or take part in a possible operation would act against friendship and he added that their aim was to make a call, not to threaten.
