ANKARA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday that Turkey wanted to maintain its friendly relations and close cooperation with ''Serbia and Montenegro''.
Releasing a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Turkey would establish close relations with Serbia and Montenegro.
Turkey wished that the evolution in ''Serbia and Montenegro'' with which Turkey was establishing close relations again after problems in former Yugoslavia that occurred in 1990's are overcomed to a great extent, would contribute to prosperity, tranquility and stability not only in this union, but also in the Balkans, the ministry said and added that Turkey wanted to maintain its friendly relations and close cooperation with ''Serbia and Montenegro''.
On February 4, 2003, the Yugoslav parliament adopted a Constitutional Charter and replaced the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia with union of "Serbia and Montenegro" that was based on partnership of two equal member states.
