ISTANBUL - Greenpeace activists who placed an anti-war banner which reads ''No To War'' on the Ataturk Culture Center (ATM) in Istanbul on Thursday by hanging themselves down from the building's roof with ropes continue to hold demonstration. Police detained one of Greenpeace activists.
Five activists hung themselves down with ropes from the roof of the AKM and unfurled an anti-war banner that reads ''No To War''.
Greenpeace Mediterranean Office Campaigns Director Tolga Temuge who read out a press statement said that those who put pressure on countries for war were people who had benefits from war.
Temuge added that some major oil companies wanted to benefit from oil reserves of Iraq.
No to War against Iraq Coordination Spokesman Hasan Toprak said that the United States put pressure on key countries for war.
