ANKARA - Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Wednesday that they would get authorization from parliament about recent developments on Thursday.
Gul visited Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc.
Following the meeting, Gul told reporters that they would come to parliament and get authorization on Thursday.
Gul said, ''I have given information in detail to Parliament Speaker concerning this issue and recent developments. Also, Arinc expressed his views during our meeting.''
Prime Minister Gul did not reply to a question on the content of the authorization.
When asked if it only covered modernization of bases, Gul said, ''you will see it tomorrow.''
GUL RECEIVES PATTEN
Gul received European Union (EU) Commissioner Chris Patten for External Affairs.
Foreign Minister Yasar Yakis and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deputy Undersecretary Volkan Bozkir were also in attendance at the meeting, which lasted for about an hour.
Any statement was not released about the meeting.
Patten is scheduled to meet with Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday.
