Lindh Meets With Representatives Of Human Rights Associations

ANKARA - Foreign Minister Anna Lindh of Sweden who is currently in Turkey on a three-day visit, met on Tuesday with representatives of human rights associations.
Addressing journalists after her meeting with Human Rights Association (IHD) Chairman Husnu Ondul and Human Rights Foundation Chairman Yavuz Onen, Lindh said that the new Turkish government intended to follow a zero-tolerance policy toward torture.
Meanwhile, Ondul said in his part that they wanted democracy standards in Turkey to increase.
Recalling that Lindh had paid a visit to the IHD three years ago, Ondul highlighted the difference in conditions of Turkey in this three-year period.
