Sutluoglu Leaves For Kenya

ISTANBUL - Environment Minister Imdat Sutluoglu left on Monday for Kenya to attend ''United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) 22nd Session of the Governing Council and Global Ministerial Environment Forum.''
Prior to his departure, Sutluoglu told reporters that the forum would be the most comprehensive meeting of the environment ministers under the umbrella of the U.N.
Sutluoglu said that steps aiming at implementation of decisions made at the meeting held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, had been taken at the meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa.
''This meeting to take place in Nairobi will be an initiative aiming at making new decisions, and implementing environmental policies in every country in line with U.N. standards,'' Sutluoglu said.
Sutluoglu noted that he would hold contacts with environment ministers of countries which had similar environmental problems with Turkey.
He would return to Turkey on Sunday, Sutluoglu added.
