ANKARA - The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) announced on Monday that wholesale prices rose by 5.6 percent and consumer prices increased by 2.6 percent in January of 2003 compared to prices of December of 2002.
Annual inflation rate in January was 32.6 percent in wholesale prices and 26.4 percent in consumer prices.
Meanwhile, according to 12-month averages as of January of 2003, inflation rate was 45.9 percent in wholesale prices and 41.3 percent in consumer prices.
Price increase in private sector manufacturing industry was 3.6 percent.
