ANKARA - The U.S. Ambassador in Ankara Robert Pearson said on Thursday that they would be pleased if the United States could issue a second decision from the U.N. Security Council regarding Iraq issue.
Pearson made a brief statement following his meeting with Prime Minister Abdullah Gul which lasted for nearly an hour.
Pointing out that he regularly informed the Prime Minister in line with the decisions taken earlier, Pearson said he briefed Gul about the U.S. President George W. Bush's State of the Union speech and scheduled visit of the U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell to the U.N. on February 5.
Pearson said Powell would convey the U.N. the views of the United States regarding Iraqi problem in details, stating that they would be pleased if they can issue a second decision from the U.N. Security council.
