ANKARA - Turkey will cooperate with 136 countries to prevent human smuggling, illicit drug trafficking and weapon smuggling.
Parliamentary General Assembly approved the draft law Turkey's becoming a side of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime.
Turkey signed the convention as a member country to the United Nations.
The convention aims at promoting cooperation to prevent and combat transnational organized crime more effectively.
The convention includes articles easing extradition of offenders.
It says, ''if a country that makes extradition conditional on the existence of a treaty receives a request for extradition from another country with which it has no extradition treaty, it may consider this Convention the legal basis for extradition.''
