Banks' Credit Volume Decreases By 1,242 Billion Turkish Liras

ANKARA - Banks' credit volume decreased 1 trillion 242 billion Turkish liras (TL) to 40 quadrillion 489.6 trillion TL between January 10-17, 2003.
The total credit volume at banks had been 40 quadrillion 490.9 trillion TL on January 10.
The Central Bank data show that the total credits in the system was composed of 2 quadrillion 677.8 trillion TL of loans given to financial sector and 37 quadrillion 811.8 trillion TL of loans given to non-financial sector.
The credits given to financial sector were composed of 954.5 trillion TL of loans given by deposit banks, and 1 quadrillion 473.3 trillion TL of loans given by development and investment banks.
The credits given to non-financial sector were composed of 254.8 trillion TL of loans given by Central Bank, 33 quadrillion 267.5 trillion TL of loans given by deposit banks, and 4 quadrillion 289.5 trillion TL of loans given by development and investment banks.
