ANKARA - Foreign Minister George Papandreou of Greece, the current term president of the European Union (EU), arrived in Ankara on Thursday to attend meeting of the EU Troika and to hold a series of contacts.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials and Greek Embassy in Ankara staff welcomed Papandreou at Ankara's Esenboga Airport.
Addressing journalists at the airport, Papandreou said that it was his first visit to Ankara as the term president of the EU.
Noting that his contacts in Ankara would focus on the issues such as relations between Turkey and the EU, the Cyprus question and Iraq, Papandreou told reporters that they were aware of Turkey's concerns about the Iraq issue.
