ANKARA - Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc received on Thursday a Norwegian delegation headed by Thorbjorn Jagland, the chairman of the Norwegian Parliamentary Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs.
The delegation members who arrived in Turkey as the official guests of the parliament were received by Arinc after their visit to the Anitkabir, the Mausoleum of Ataturk, the Founder of the modern and secular Republic of Turkey.
The meeting was closed to press.
The 16-member Norwegian delegation later visited Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission.
Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Commission Chairman Mehmet Dulger said that he was pleased with visit of his Norwegian colleagues to Turkey and added that they attributed importance to the development of relations between the two countries.
The delegation members will later visit Foreign Minister Yasar Yakis.
They will depart from Ankara on Friday.
