ANKARA - The National Security Council (NSC) will convene under chairmanship of President Ahmet Necdet Sezer on Friday.
The regular NSC meeting will start at 1.30 p.m.
Internal and external developments will be evaluated at the first NSC meeting of this year.
Meanwhile, this NSC meeting will be the first meeting held after an amendment to NSC law.
Under the amendment, deputy prime ministers and justice minister are also included among the NSC members.
The amendment foresees that NSC decisions are ''recommendatory.''
Deputy prime ministers and justice ministers started to attend NSC meeting after an arrangement in the Constitution in 2001 although the legal change was made in the previous days.
Deputy prime ministers used to attend the meeting before the constitutional amendment but they were not NSC members those days.
