U.S. Humanitarian Aid Delegation Arrives In Ankara

ANKARA - Humanitarian aid delegation headed by U.S. Principle Deputy Assistant Secretary Richard L. Green for Population, Refugees and Migration held contacts in Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
Green, who released a statement after his contacts, said that they exchanged views concerning humanitarian problems that might occur after a possible operation against Iraq.
Noting that they listened the views and worries of Turkish side, Green said that they made their plans regarding a possible migration of around 500 thousand and one million people.
Green said that the figure was estimated not for the whole of Iraq but only for a certain region and added that they would visit other countries in the region after their contacts in Turkey.
A group from the delegation which included civil and military officials would visit the regional countries while another group would inspect Turkey's border with Iraq.
The delegation will have meetings in Red Crescent Directorate General in the afternoon.
