Gul: We Want A Region Where People Are Living In Peace

DAVOS - Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said on Saturday, ''Turkey does not want division of Iraq. We want a region where people are living in peace.''
Prime Minister Gul who is currently in Davos to attend the World Economic Forum, held a press conference.
When asked by a journalist, ''if war goes out of control, somethings may become more difficult. In that case, you may enter Iraq. Does Turkey intend to take back Kirkuk oil?'' Prime Minister Gul said, ''I do not want to reiterate it. Of course, Iraq's integrity is of great importance. Iraq's resources should belong to Iraqi people. All this population including Arabs, Kurds and Turkmen form Iraq. They are parts of Iraq. Naturally, they think about their well-being, and they, therefore, want a peaceful solution. Turkey does not intend to take back any territory from its neighbors. Of course, we are interested in the issue of Kirkuk. In what regard? We should ask this question.''
''If peace and stability are settled in the region, then economic cooperation will further develop. Regional countries will make joint investments in a peaceful atmosphere. Turkey does not want division of Iraq. We want a region where people are living in peace.''
