ANKARA - Constitutional Court Chairman Mustafa Bumin, while evaluating the criticisms that precautionary measure request regarded with Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdogan was delayed, pointed out that, ''three-months trial process is not long. Those criticisms are somewhat unjust.''
When A.A correspondent reminded Bumin the criticisms that, ''why did the Constitutional Court wait for three months to take this decision,'' and asked about his views, he said the application had been made on December 23, 2002, and that the delegation brought the issue onto its agenda three days after November 3 elections.
Bumin said, ''the delegation decided to give the related party 15-days for defense. After they get the defense, they gave sometime to the rapporteur to prepare a report. There are many things which the court has to work on.''
