55 Turkish Workers Taken Into Custody In Tel Aviv

ISTANBUL - A total of 55 Turkish workers were taken into custody in Tel Aviv.
Yuda Mizhari, one of the partners of TLM construction company said on Tuesday that 15 workers of the company were taken into custody on Sunday and 40 others were taken into custody by Israeli security forces on Monday night.
Noting that all the Turkish workers came to Israel legally to work by getting visas and they have insurance, Mizrahi said that although they told the Employment Agency that they needed 180 workers, the Agency gave work permits for only 33 workers.
''The incident stems from a bureaucratic problem, they gave us work permits for 33 persons, and we gave petition against it saying we need more workers here. They raided the construction sites at night and unfortunately they arrested everybody. We do our best, we don't want our workers to stay in jail. We hope they will be released within few days,'' he said.
