ROME - Enrico Boselli, the leader of Italian Social Democrats (SDI) party, has said Turkey's having dialogue with Europe about solution of Iraq crisis was very important.
During Socialist International meetings in Italian capital Rome, Boselli answered the A.A correspondent's questions.
Noting that he hoped Turkey would adopt a position to Iraq crisis with support of Europe, Boselli said, ''especially if the United States turns it into a military operation...In this case, Turkey's having a good dialogue with Europe may be very important. Meanwhile, everything is much easier for both Turkey and Europe if there is a military operation under a U.N. resolution.''
When the A.A correspondent asked whether or not Turkey's participation in operation against Iraq might negatively affects its relations with the EU, Boselli said, ''no. I don't suppose that this has connection with the relations with the EU. If Turkey takes a decision together with the United States within the NATO, this does not constitute a factor like suspension of relations between Turkey and the EU. It would be better if such a decision is not taken but even if it is taken, this does not constitute a reason.''
