ANTALYA - A total of 45 thousand 180 tourists visited southern Antalya province since the beginning of the new year.
Officials of Antalya Governorship told A.A correspondent on Sunday that 45 thousand 180 tourists came to Antalya by planes between January 1 and 12.
The officials said that number of tourists visiting Antalya in the first 12 days of January increased by 37 percent in 2003 when compared with the same period of the previous month.
A total of 33 thousand 123 tourists had come to Antalya between December 1 and 12, 2002.
A total of 65 thousand 562 tourists visited Antalya in January 2002.
The number of tourists that Antalya hosted in 2002 was 4 million 938 thousand 404.
SOUTH KOREANS TO BE HOSTED IN KOYCEGIZ
A group of 30 South Koreans who supported Turkish national football team during the World Cup will be hosted in western Koycegiz township for ten days in the summer.
Koycegiz Head Official Mustafa Demir said on Sunday that they applied to the South Korean Embassy to host South Koreans who supported Turkey during World Cup matches.
Demir noted that they would not only thank the South Koreans for their support but also they would take them to historical and touristic places in the region and promote Turkey.
They could never forget that the South Korean fans waved a Turkish flag although South Korean team was defeated by Turkey in the third place play-off, Demir added.
