Annan Calls Prime Minister Gul On The Phone

ANKARA - Prime Minister Abdullah Gul talked to the U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan on the phone.
Prime Ministry statement said, ''the U.N. Secretary General called Prime Minister Gul on the phone and talked to him for 25 minutes.''
The statement said Mr. Annan expressed his gratitute to Prime Minister Gul over his efforts and initiatives toward solution of Iraqi problem through peaceful means.
The statement said Prime Minister Gul evaluated the results of his visits to Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iran, and briefed about the initiatives which we planned to launch jointly with the countries in question.
The statement said the Secretary General briefly mentioned the negotiations started on Cyprus.
