SHANGHAI - Justice and Development Party (AK Party) leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that he admired in China and he did not see communism which he has known in China.
Erdogan responded the questions of reporters after his evaluation meeting with Turkish businessmen in Hilton Hotel.
When a reporter said that Turkish businessmen considered the visit unproductive, Erdogan said that they met with government officials and added that they are taking global steps to strengthen existing trade network with China. He said that fulfillment of those steps will be provided by the meetings of organizations such as the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and Foreign Economic Relations Committee (DEIK) with their counterparts. He added that they are supporting businessmen.
When asked his views concerning the reasons of development in China, Erdogan said that political will works very well in China and he emphasized the importance of time. He added that China is evaluating its time very well and the statement of Chinese Communist Party Secretary General Hu Jintao who said that 'we made mistake in cultural revolution' is very meaningful. Erdogan said that there is confidence and stability in China and if Turkey also provides those things, foreign investments will be made in Turkey.
Erdogan said upon a question that China is willing to make joint investments.
When a reporter asked ''We came from a liberal country. There is communism in China. Is this situation contradicting with development?'' Erdogan said, ''There is no such communism in China. It is possible to see liberalism in here. I did not see communism which I have known in here.''
