KABUL - Turkey and Afghanistan signed an agreement on military training, technical and scientific cooperation on Thursday.
Turkey, which continues to command International Security Assistance Force (ISAF)) in Afghan capital Kabul, will support this country with cooperation in military training, technical and scientific fields in order to maintain security in Kabul, train bodyguards, support training of Afghan national police and extend a lasting support to Afghan armed forces.
ISAF Commander Gen. Hilmi Akýn Zorlu and Deputy Defense Minister, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Minister Gen. Barialay signed the agreement in a ceremony which was held in Afghan Defense Ministry.
The agreement includes military training, military intelligence, logistics, exercise, exchange of military observers, defense industry, personnel issues, military history, archives, military cartography, medicine and health services, military legal system, civilian military cooperation and communication.
