G.A.P. Region Exports U.S.D. 144.9 Million Of Goods To Middle East

GAZIANTEP - Exports of agricultural and animal products from Southeast Anatolia Project (GAP) region to the Middle East decreased 22.4 percent to 144 million 948 thousand U.S. dollars in 2002.
In 2001, the GAP region exported 186 million 591 thousand U.S. dollars of agricultural and animal products to the Middle East.
Gaziantep-based Southeast Anatolian Exporters' Association told the A.A on Wednesday that they exported 12 million 557 thousand U.S. dollars in livestock and animal products, 43 million 135 thousand U.S. dollars in grain-cereals, 1 million 996 thousand U.S. dollars in dried fruits and 87 million 260 thousand U.S. dollars in textiles.
The Turkish goods in greatest demand were carpets, cotton and synthetic thread, textiles, dried apricot, biscuits, cakes, candies, chocolate, pistachio, sheep, plastic sack, flour and sugar.
