Turkey And Syria Sign Political Consultation Mechanism Protocol

ANKARA - Turkey and Syria signed on Tuesday a protocol for establishing political consultation mechanism.
Foreign Minister Yasar Yakis and his Syrian counterpart Farouk al-Shara signed the protocol which aims further developing the relations of two countries by consultations.
PKK issue was brought into agenda during Al-Shara's Ankara visit and Syrian side said that they considered KADEK as a terrorist organization besides PKK as well.
Hatay issue was not discussed in the meetings, but an official said that Syria did not want the good relations between two countries to be harmed by this issue, adding that they need time to remove the issue completely from the agenda.
Noting that it is started to include Hatay inside the borders of Turkey in some maps in Syria, the official said that Syria has signs of concrete changes in its Hatay policy.
Syrian Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa Miru will also visit Ankara in the first half of the year after Al-Shara's visit.
Diplomatic sources said that Syrian President Bashar al-Asad will arrive in Turkey after Miru.
