Gap Region Exports Usd 67.3 Million Of Grain-cereals

GAZIANTEP - Exports of grain-cereals from Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) region in 2002 decreased 29.5 percent to 67 million 345 thousand U.S. dollars.
In the same period last year, the region exported 95 million 420 thousand U.S. dollars of grain-cereals.
Gaziantep-based Southeast Anatolian Exporters' Association told the A.A on Tuesday that they exported 6 million 130 thousand U.S. dollars in lentil, chickpea and bean; 5 million 927 thousand U.S. dollars in flour, bulgur (pounded wheat), semolina and macaroni; 7 million 792 thousand U.S. dollars in vegetal oil; 38 million 789 thousand U.S. dollars in sugar, biscuits, candies, wafers and cakes; and 8 million 707 thousand U.S. dollars in various other products.
Most of the products were exported to Iraq, Germany, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Lebanon and Iran.
