LEFKOSA - Meeting of President Rauf Denktas of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) with the leaders and representatives of the political parties represented in the Parliament ended on Monday.
Communal Liberation Party (TKP) did not attend the meeting where TRNC President Denktas revealed views regarding the evaluations which he presented to the political parties at the weekend regarding Annan's plan.
Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu, who spoke after the meeting, pointed out that many issues were discussed, and that he could say that steps could be taken.
He said, ''it has been revealed that there is consensus of opinion on many issues.''
When he was reminded about his words published in Greek To Vimo newspaper that ''they could make territory concession'' and asked to make an evaluation, Eroglu said that ''there could be some mistakes in translation of my statement'' and noted that he mentioned closed part of Maras in his statement.
Eroglu said that he did not mention Magusa.
Some of closed part of Maras and bufferzone could be given to the Greek Cypriots and border arrangement could be made in case of an agreement, Eroglu noted.
Eroglu added, ''especially a part of the closed region of Maras can be given by taking into consideration security of Magusa and Magusa Port. I claim that as TRNC, we don't have any migrants. There are not any migrants among TRNC people after 27 years. To this end, if there are migrants in the Greek Cypriot administration and new sheltering areas are needed for these people, there is 2.56 percent bufferzone. Dwellings can be constructed in this bufferzone and we can conclude this issue by some border arrangements if there is to be an agreement. There is not any other thing.''
