ANKARA - Constitutional Court sent the written defense of AK Party to the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeals regarding the closure case on Monday.
After the AK Party submitted its written defense to the Constitutional Court, the latter gave the defense of the party to the Supreme Court of Appeals Chief Prosecutor's Office.
Chief Prosecutor Sabih Kanadoglu will prepare his view about the merits of the case by taking into consideration the written defense and that he will submit it to the Constitutional Court.
AK Party will later prepare its last written defense about the merits of the case. AK Party's demand for extra period will be assessed by the Constitutional Court. After the end of this process, Chief Prosecutor Kanadoglu will make his verbal statements in the Constitutional Court and party administrators will make their verbal defense. Later the case file will be given to the rapporteur for examination. When the rapporteur finishes his examination, the Constitutional Court will give its verdict.
Kanadoglu had filed a closure case against AK Party claiming that the party didn't fully fulfill the warnings of the Court under Article 104/2 of the Political Parties Act.
