ANKARA - The Central Bank said on Friday that it was possible to achieve 20 percent inflation and 5 percent growth rate targets in 2003 set together with the government despite external shock risks like Iraqi issue.
A statement of Central Bank said that the inflation target was set jointly by the government and the Bank.
They set the inflation target for 2003 as 20 percent and the growth target as 5 percent, the statement noted.
The statement said, ''if deviation in public cost is corrected and discipline is maintained, and also structural reforms are continued and basic principles of current program are abided by, it is possible to continue the positive economic course and to achieve 20 percent inflation and 5 percent growth rate targets in 2003 set together with the government despite external shock risks like Iraqi issue.''
