Exports Of Gap Region To Turkish Republics Increase By 44.6 Percent

GAZIANTEP - Agricultural product exports of Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) region to Turkish republics increased by 44.6 percent to 39 million 811 thousand U.S. dollars in the first eleven months of this year.
The region raised an income of 27 million 531 thousand U.S. dollars through its exports in the same period of the previous year.
According to figures of Southeastern Anatolia Exporters Associations, the region exported 4 million 885 thousand U.S. dollars of cereals, 71 thousand U.S. dollars of dried fruit and 34 million 855 thousand U.S. dollars of textile to Turkish republics between January and November 2002.
Uzbekistan was the main export center while machine-made carpet, biscuits, cakes, chocolates, candies and flour were the main export products of GAP region.
