More Than One Million Tourists Visit Trabzon

TRABZON - A total of 1 millioin 161 thousand 57 tourists visited northern Trabzon province in the first 11 months of this year.
Officials of Tourism Provincial Directorate said on Sunday that the city raised an income of 73 million 606 thousand 175 U.S. dollars through tourism.
The officials noted that 294 thousand 769 people from western countries and 20 thousand 809 people from Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries came to the city in the first eleven months of this year.
There was 12 percent of increase in number of western tourists and 35 percent of people from CIS countries in 2002 when compared with 2001, the officials added.
