Textile Exports From G.A.P. Region Increase 43.4 Percent

GAZIANTEP - Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) region exported 255 million 492 thousand U.S. dollars of textile with an increase of 43.4 percent in 11 months of this year.
The region raised an income of 178 million 124 thousand U.S. dollars through textile exports in the same period of the previous year.
According to figures of Southeast Anatolia Exporters Associations, the region made 117 million 70 thousand U.S. dollars of machine-made carpet export, 118 million 188 thousand U.S. dollars of cotton, knitted and synthetic textile export, 9 million 956 thousand U.S. dollars of plastic sack export and 10 million 278 thousand U.S. dollars of towel exports between January and November 2002.
Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Romania, Uzbekistan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Belgium, Greece, France, the United States, Algeria, Spain, Iraq, Britain, Germany and Russia were the main export centers of the region.
